Whatever we do with your data, written down plainly

Telihano keeps the paperwork short. This page tells you what we collect, why we collect it and how to get it removed. If anything here is unclear, call +31 10 493 7281 or write to us, and a real person answers.

Who we are

Telihano is a photography studio based at Weena 455, 3013 AL Rotterdam, Netherlands. We shoot product sets for webshops and weddings across the country. When you book a shoot, ask for a quote or send us a message, you share personal data with us, and this page explains what happens to it.

The studio is the data controller for everything described here. If you have a question that this page does not answer, write to telihano@hotmail.com or call us on +31 10 493 7281 during working hours.

What data we collect

We only collect what we need to answer you and to run a booking. In practice that means the following.

  • Contact details you type into a form: name, email address, phone number and the message itself.
  • Booking details: shoot date, venue or studio slot, delivery address for albums or equipment, and any notes you add about the job.
  • Billing data for business clients: company name, address, VAT number and invoice history.
  • Photographs and video we make during a session, which may include images of people at a wedding or an event.
  • Basic technical data from the website, such as the pages you opened and the browser you used.

We do not collect payment card numbers ourselves. Card payments run through a payment provider, and the card details never reach our systems.

Why we process your data

Every piece of data has a reason behind it, and the reason is usually one of these three.

  • To perform a contract. We need your name, address and shoot brief to deliver the photographs you booked.
  • To answer a request. If you send a form or a wedding enquiry, we process your details to reply and keep track of the conversation.
  • To meet legal duties. Dutch tax law requires us to keep invoices and their supporting data for seven years.

We do not sell your data, we do not rent it to marketing lists, and we do not use wedding photographs for advertising unless you gave us written permission to do so.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that never turn into a booking are deleted twelve months after the last message. Client files, raw photographs and edited galleries stay in our archive for five years, because people come back years later for a reprint or an extra export. Wedding galleries stay online for twelve months and then move to cold storage, where you can still request a copy. Invoice data is kept for the seven years the Dutch tax office asks for, and then it is removed.

Your rights under the GDPR

Because we operate in the Netherlands, the General Data Protection Regulation applies to everything we do with your data. You have the right to see what we hold about you, to have mistakes corrected, to ask for deletion, to limit how we use it, to object to processing and to receive your data in a portable file.

  • Send a request to telihano@hotmail.com and we answer within one month.
  • We may ask for proof of identity before handing over a file, so nobody else can request your data.
  • If you think we handled something badly, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Sharing, security and changes

A small number of suppliers see your data on our behalf: our hosting provider, the accounting package and the online gallery platform. All of them work under a processing agreement. We do not transfer data outside the European Economic Area without a proper legal basis.

Files are stored on encrypted drives, access is limited to the two people who run the studio, and we keep backups in a separate location. This policy was last reviewed in 2024. If the way we work changes, this page will be updated before the change takes effect.

Data requests get handled by the same two people who run the studio. No call centre, no ticket number.
